Lightroom 5 Class: October 18 and 25, 2014 - class is FULL
Bob Kidd and Mike Dooley want you to become a better photographer. The digital darkroom class will show you how to improve your workflow by using Lightroom 5's library catalog and search features. You will also learn to handle Lightroom 5's powerful develop functions, allowing you to make evocative and believable photographs from the raw image files you have captured with your camera.
Here are a few comments from photographers in the September class:
"Highly recommend. Mike and Bob compliment each other. I learned some great tools today. Thank you gentlemen." - Kathleen Caswell
"Spent a few hours this weekend loading, key wording and cataloguing old images. So helpful! Thanks Bob & Mike!" - Lori Viner
"Great class yesterday as all of the students seemed to bring different things to the table. I learned a lot and have already started using some of it yesterday afternoon… Four hours was just enough to to absorb a great deal and go back home and apply it. For me personally, eight hours would have killed me. Being able to go home and apply what was learned over a two week period is great" - Chris Emerson
"Thanks for sharing your knowledge about this great program! Over the past 6-8 months I've learned so much about photography, from the photographers' boot camp in late May, to the Lightroom 5 class. I feel comfortable now taking that "marginal shot" and recreating what I saw through the viewfinder. I look forward to seeing what other classes you'll put together to make my hobby more interesting. Thanks for a great couple of classes!" - Jeff Meunier
"Much thanks to bob kidd photography and Mike Dooley Photography for providing a well run Lightroom 5 workshop. Both brought a different perspective to the training that proved valuable. I consider myself an intermediate user, however, I learned many new tools and how best to apply them. Great job Bob and Mike..." - Chris Emerson
"Thanks again to both of you. Being in your class was a complete pleasure. You provided a supportive atmosphere and listened well. Much learned and much to learn. You gave us a great foundation to work from!" - Marian Goldsmith
After learning how to import your raw image files into the Lightroom 5 library, you will learn how to apply effective darkroom techniques (to pull and push light) and how to remove unwanted artifacts. On your journey from understanding to knowing, we will examine Gestalt imagery by exploring why monitor calibration should be an essential part of your workflow. We are confident that you will make better photographs after learning Lightroom 5 developing techniques.
In addition, you will learn how to protect your valuable image files when disaster strikes and your hard drive or computer fails. Over the course of your digital photography experience, it's not about if, but when this will happen. We will help you make a recovery plan that will make the difference between loss and recovery.
We will meet for two four-hour sessions on successive Saturday mornings--when your learning ability is at its peak. We will meet from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. in the Gallery Room at Bagelz of Wakefield on October 18 and Pctober 25, 2014. In order to maximize your learning experience, class size is limited to six photographers. Bring your laptop with a copy of Lightroom 5 installed on it, and your camera with a memory card. Grab a cup of coffee or tea and join us and like-minded photographers in mastering the digital darkroom. Registration is $149.
