Wanderlust is real - a deep force from within that compels us to leave our comfort zone and get out and wander. Wandering freely and with a purpose suits me. When we decided to spend a week exploring Iceland, I knew what photo gear I would bring - a mirrorless Fujifilm X-T1 and a 28-55mm lens. The X-T1 is an APS-C based camera that I have traveled with before and enjoyed both the images I made with it and its unobtrusive size and weight.
One of the reasons I bonded with this camera is that it has beautifully etched knobs and functions like an analog camera. I can change shutter speed, aperture or ISO by turning a knob or a dial. I am not a fan of menu diving and I rarely have to consult the menu to make adjustments with this camera. Ignoring ergonomics, the other reason I take this camera on travel adventures is the ability to make images that please me. I love walking and exploring with my eyes and this kit makes it easy for me to do just that.
I encourage you to get out there and see what you can find.
See ya around,
